Tail gate

I got a tail gate for the Sweptline. Our truck's tail gate is probably the worst part of our truck. One of the straps that holds the tail gate when it is in the down position is totally ripped out and the other one is 1/2 ripped out. The "new" tail gate is perfect in this regard. But it is the wrong color. Thus begins the slow roller paint job. For every hour I spend working on cars/trucks, I've promised Palila I'll spend an hour on the house.

Keep tuned in for pictures.

It'd be fun to have this in the driveway

Now I can see

Picture shows the new lights on the passenger side and old lights on the driver. The change is more dramatic that was the picture shows. Now I can see at night.

Mostly done

Here's a progress picture: Head, turbo, exhaust and intake manifolds, cam, throttle body, rockers, and valve cover ... all on the dining room table.

Here's one where things are a little more tidied up. Palila helped me put the head back on the block. The head and all that stuff weighs just under 100lbs and you just about have to lay yourself prone to get it all on there correctly.

All reassembly from here

I finally got the crank gear pulled. I had to have one of the holes heli-coiled. I also ordered the last of the major parts I'll need for putting the car back together.

Since I'm waiting on parts, I guess I'll study for comps (but no progress pics because they are quite boring).

Waiting

While I'm waiting on parts I've been doing some cleaning.

Here's one of the heat shields all cleaned and somewhat polished.
