Defended
After just over 6 years in the program, I successfully defended my dissertation on Tuesday 9/6/2011.
Considering the difficulties of the first 5 years, the last year was relatively smooth, and I would call the last hour (the defense itself) easy.
It was also rather anticlimactic. One would think that reaching success after a long struggle would bring joy and happiness. It mostly just brought relief and maybe some dull satisfaction. I am told the joy might follow in a few weeks. We'll see.
